Type Alien Blast — Falling Words Typing Game

Defend your aircraft by typing the words on the alien monsters falling from deep space. Pick Time Attack or the 10-level campaign, choose a difficulty, and push your WPM, accuracy, and combo as high as you can.

How to Play

Alien monsters drift down from the top of the screen, each labelled with a word. Type a word to lock your aircraft onto that monster and open fire — finish the word to destroy it. Clear the monsters before they reach the bottom.

Controls

  • Letter keys — type the word on a monster to target it and shoot.
  • Backspace — delete the last letter you typed. The lock releases only once the word is empty, so backspace all the way out to free your aircraft for a different monster.
  • ESC — pause and resume, toggle sound, or quit the game.

Targeting

Typing a letter locks onto the lowest monster on screen whose word starts with that letter — the one closest to your aircraft. New monsters are given different starting letters, so you can usually reach the exact one you want. To switch targets mid-word, backspace over everything you have typed: the lock only releases once the word is empty, and then the first letter of your new target locks onto it.

Game Modes

  • Time Attack. Choose 1, 2, 5, or 10 minutes and score as many points as you can. You cannot lose — keep blasting until the timer runs out.
  • Level Campaign. Clear 10 escalating waves. Each wave sends a fixed batch of monsters; destroy them all to advance to the next level. Reach Level 10 to win.

Bosses

Bosses are large enemies labelled with a short multi-word phrase — type it straight through, ignoring the spaces. A few seconds after it appears, a boss releases a swarm of small minions and keeps descending itself, so bring it down quickly and mop up the swarm. In Level mode one of those minions flies straight at your aircraft, exactly like any other flashing red enemy.

Scoring & Records

Every monster destroyed scores points, with bonus points for bosses. Chain kills without a mistake to build a combo multiplier. Your best score, WPM, accuracy, combo, and level reached are saved in your browser for each mode and difficulty.

Typing Tips

  • In Level mode, scan for flashing red enemies first — they end the run if they reach your ship.
  • Keep your fingers on the home row (ASDF — JKL;) between keystrokes.
  • Type the whole word — accuracy matters more than raw speed.
  • A short pause to fix a mistake costs less than a typo cascade.
  • Build combos by stringing correct words together with no errors.

FAQ

What are the two game modes?

Time Attack gives you a fixed time (1 to 10 minutes) to score as much as you can and cannot be lost. Level mode is a 10-wave campaign: clear every monster in a wave to advance, and reach Level 10 to win.

What are the flashing red monsters in Level mode?

They are homing enemies that fly straight at your aircraft. If one reaches your ship the run ends immediately, so destroy the flashing red monsters before anything else. They appear only in Level mode.

How is WPM calculated?

WPM = (correct characters typed in destroyed words) ÷ 5, scaled to one minute — the standard typing-speed formula.

Does the game get harder if I do well?

In Time Attack on Easy and Medium the difficulty adjusts slightly every 15 seconds; Hard stays constant. In Level mode each wave is harder than the last.

Do my best scores save?

Yes — your best score, WPM, accuracy, combo, and level reached are saved in your browser (localStorage) per mode and difficulty. They never leave your device.
