Paladin's Last Stand — Typing Survival Game

Type the words beside your skills to cast them. Protect your wounded companion from monsters closing in from every side until the timer runs out.

How to Play

Paladin's Last Stand is a typing survival game. You and a wounded companion are surrounded, and monsters close in from every side. Each of your holy skills has a word beside it — type the word to cast that skill. Hold the line and keep both of you alive until the timer runs out.

Controls

  • Letter keys — type the word shown beside a skill to cast it. Every castable skill starts with a different letter, so the first key you press locks onto that skill; finish the word and it fires automatically.
  • Backspace — erase the last letter; clear the word entirely to switch to a different skill.
  • ESC — pause and resume, or return to the title screen.
  • Arrow keys + Enter — on the level-up screen, highlight and confirm a Blessing (you can also click it).

Casting & Targeting

You never aim manually. Each skill chooses its own targets — the nearest enemy, the toughest one, or everything around your companion — and casts the instant you finish typing its word. After firing, a skill briefly goes on cooldown and its word disappears until it is ready again, so you weave between skills rather than spamming one.

Your Holy Skills

  • Smite. Hammers the nearest enemy with several quick strikes — dependable single-target damage.
  • Radiant Volley. Looses a fan of holy bolts at the nearest enemies (4, rising to 12 once upgraded). Spread damage that thins a crowd but does not hold it back.
  • Holy Hammer. Sends spinning hammers orbiting your companion, battering everything they sweep — a rotating wall of damage right where you must defend. Each level adds another hammer.
  • Shield Bash. Knocks back and damages the enemies pressing in around your companion, buying space — and, once upgraded, stunning them.
  • Divine Nova. A golden shockwave that chains nearby enemies in holy light, locking them in place. Crowd control rather than damage; its reach grows to fill the screen.
  • Prayer of Light. Heals you and your companion, and once fully upgraded banks any overheal as a shield. Your main way to recover lost health.

Leveling Up & Blessings

You start a run with three skills — Smite, Holy Hammer and Radiant Volley — and earn the other three along the way. Every enemy you defeat grants experience. When you level up, the action pauses and you choose one of three Blessings — unlock a new skill, upgrade one you already have, or take a passive: Sacred Oath cuts the damage your companion takes, Fervor grows your skill damage as your no-miss combo climbs, and Blessed Blade boosts all skill damage. Elites (outlined in red) are tougher and hit harder, and higher difficulties send more of them as the run goes on.

Tips

  • On higher difficulties, upgrade Holy Hammer and Shield Bash first for crowd control; treat Radiant Volley as a lower priority.
  • Watch both health bars — the run ends if either you or your companion falls, so do not let the paladin soak up everything.
  • Keep a no-miss combo going: Fervor turns it into a steady skill-damage boost, so a clean streak beats a fast, sloppy one.
  • Prayer of Light is your reset button — cast it before a wound becomes fatal, not after.
  • Use Divine Nova when the swarm stacks up; locking a crowd in place buys time for your other skills to clear it.
  • Clear the field completely when you can — both units slowly recover health while no enemy is on them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cast a skill?

Type the word shown beside it. Every castable skill begins with a different letter, so the first key you press locks onto that skill; finish the word and it fires automatically at its target.

How do I lose?

The run ends the moment either health bar empties — your companion's or your own. You are not just escorting the companion; you have to survive too.

Which skills should I upgrade first?

On Easy and Normal you have room to round out your kit, but on Hard prioritise Holy Hammer and Shield Bash — their crowd control keeps the swarm off your companion. Radiant Volley is a lower priority because it deals damage without holding the line.

What are the red-outlined enemies?

Elites — tougher monsters with more health that hit harder. Higher difficulties spawn more of them, and more often, as the run goes on.

Do I aim my skills?

No. Every skill auto-targets — the nearest enemy, the toughest one, or everything around your companion — and casts as soon as you finish typing its word.

Can I play on a phone?

The game is built for a physical keyboard, so it plays best on a desktop or laptop.
