Firework Typer — Fireworks Typing Game
Every rocket carries a letter. Type it to light the fuse and burst it into fireworks. Keep the streak alive, clear perfect barrages, dodge the storm clouds, and end the night with a grand finale. Pick a 3 or 5 minute show, or go endless — waves keep growing until the stars run out.
How to Play Firework Typer
Letter rockets climb into the night sky. Press a rocket’s letter and it ignites instantly, bursting into fireworks. Keep typing accurately to grow the show — and mind the storm clouds.
Controls
- Type a rocket’s letter to ignite it — no mouse aiming, no confirm key.
- Every correct letter extends your combo; wrong keys and storm clouds break it.
- Esc pauses the show.
- Easy mode shows a helper keyboard bar with the live keys highlighted.
What flies at the festival
- Letter rockets. The bread and butter. Ignite them before they fly off the top — every rocket that escapes untyped counts as one dud.
- Barrage volleys. A whole group launches at once. Type every letter inside the window for a synchronized PERFECT BARRAGE bonus.
- Storm clouds. Dark and marked with a warning sign. Typing a cloud’s letter rains out the sky, breaks your combo, and counts as one dud.
- Milestone visitors. Long combos summon a witch, a UFO and a phoenix, each carrying a gold letter. Type it to stop time for three seconds, call in laser support, or have the phoenix bless the sky as it leaves. Keep the streak going and the three of them come around again, and again.
Typing Tips to Light Up the Night
- Keep your fingers on the home row and watch the sky, not the keyboard — each rocket launches roughly under its key’s column.
- Accuracy beats speed: one wrong key kills the combo that makes your fireworks big.
- On barrages, read all the letters first, then roll through them in one smooth burst.
- The combo fades after a few silent seconds — keep a steady rhythm even when the sky is quiet.
- Storm clouds are never targets. Train yourself to skip their letters entirely.
- Start on Home Row · Easy to build clean finger habits, then widen to All Letters.
Firework Typer — FAQ
Is Firework Typer free?
Yes — completely free in your browser, with no download or sign-up.
What do the key range modes mean?
Home Row (ASDFGHJKL;), Top Row (QWERTYUIOP), Bottom Row (ZXCVBNM), and All Letters (A–Z). Each mode only launches letters from its range, so you can drill one keyboard row at a time.
What is a Perfect Barrage?
Sometimes several rockets launch simultaneously. Type all of their letters within the short window and they detonate as one synchronized volley with bonus points.
What are the gold letters on the witch, UFO and phoenix?
Each milestone visitor carries one. Typing it costs you nothing and keeps your combo alive: the witch freezes the sky for three seconds, the UFO stops to laser rockets alight for you, and the phoenix saves its blessing for the moment it leaves — every rocket still flying goes up at once, and the wave after it bursts halfway. Watch for the UFO’s parting shots as it pulls away; that is your cue to take the sky back. On the smaller key ranges a visitor may carry a letter already flying — press it once and you get both, the rocket and the skill. Ignoring the letter is fine too, and the visitor just puts on its usual show.
Why did my combo reset?
A wrong key, typing a storm cloud’s letter, or a few seconds without igniting anything. Missed rockets don’t break the combo directly — they count as duds instead.
What are the duds and stars?
You can afford two mistakes per round. Every dud — a rocket that escapes off the top untyped, or a storm cloud’s letter you type — appears as a cracked rocket on the right and costs one of your three celebration stars. At three duds the show ends early, and your rating is the stars you finish with.
What does KPM mean?
Keys per minute — correct keystrokes per minute of play. A single-letter game measures KPM rather than words per minute (WPM).
Does it work on phones?
It needs a physical keyboard, so play on a desktop or laptop for the real experience.
